Launched in 1986 by Colin Graves, The Costcutter Supermarkets Group now has over 1500 stores throughout the UK and Northern Ireland.
Colin’s original philosophy of group trading, but with individual flexibility for retailers to trade to local conditions made Costcutter’s proposition unique in the market place and was the basis for sustained growth throughout the 1990’s.
Costcutter are without doubt, one of the industry’s leading supermarket groups, and continue to establish their brand name through extensive marketing and promotional campaigns. Almost two million consumer leaflets are distributed door-to-door every three weeks with supporting national press and television advertising.
Based in York, Costcutter has recently been listed as one of the Top 100 fastest growing independent companies in the UK by The Times newspaper ( source: KPMG ).
