Launched in 1986 by Colin Graves, the Costcutter Supermarkets Group now has over 1400 stores throughout the UK and Northern Ireland.
The Costcutter concept holds no bounds and has been successfully developed to cater for different store formats and sizes. For smaller stores, Costcutter Express is a dedicated convenience and petrol forecourt format launched in 1995 and is suitable for stores under 1,000 sq ft. Currently stores range in size from 500 to 5,000 sq ft - though attitude and location of the retailer is regarded as more important than size of the store.
Predominantly, however, Costcutter outlets are grocery led neighbourhood stores which demand a competitive pricing policy, a strong promotional programme that incorporates the multi buy deals and a product range that includes a substantial grocery provision.
If you have always wanted to be your own boss but don't have the funds for property, fixtures and fittings, our Licensed store scheme may be the solution for you. We have existing stores throughout the UK, which are available to the right store manager to operate under a licensed agreement. We provide the store and the manager provides the expertise to run it.
Costcutter are without doubt, one of the industries leading supermarket groups, and continue to establish their brand name through extensive marketing and promotional campaigns. Almost two million consumer leaflets are distributed door-to-door every 3 weeks with supporting national press and television advertising.
